J-Lo says she is in NO Competition with Beyonce

After being dropped from Sony Records earlier in the year and having her album put on halt J-Lo still thinks she's the hottest thing in the game. She recently stated that she is in no competition with Beyonce:

“I love all the girls out there now – Beyonce, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Pink – all of them,” says Jennifer, 40. “I don’t feel in competition with them.” Jennifer is determined to to stay true to her own sound. “I just want to be me,” she tells You, “and that’s always been good enough.”

Seeing how she can't outsell half of them it's better to join them than try and beat them. Jen definitely knows how to stay in her lane.

Mariah Carey Puts Out an Electrical Fire

Mariah Carey proved she was more than a Diva who sings tunes after she put out an electrical fire that broke out under her feet as she was waiting to take the stage at a concert in Egypt. She tweeted:
"In Egypt getting ready to go on stage and suddenly there was a surge of power and an electrical fire started under my feet! Naturally, my emergency instincts kicked in and I put out the flames w/a towel."

This isn't the first time that Mariah put out a fire, she also extinguished a fire in her home late last year after a blaze broke out in her master bedroom during a Valentine's Day celebration with her and Nick. At least she has some great instincts. We're impressed.

News Break: White Families Now $95K Richer Than African-American Families

A new study by researchers at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA claims that in the last 23 years, the gap between the average net worth of African-American families and white families has more than quadrupled:
In examining data from 1984 to 2007, Brandeis's Institute on Assets and Social Policy found that the average white family now has accumulated $95,000 more in total wealth than the average African-American family. One quarter of African-American families, the report notes, currently have no financial assets to protect themselves from financial ruin. By 2007, the average middle income white household accumulated $74,000," the report's authors note, "whereas average high income African Americans owned only $18,000.

The racial wealth gap results from historical and contemporary factors but the disturbing four fold in crease in such a short time reflects public policies, such as tax cuts on investment income and inheritances which benefit the wealthiest, and redistribute wealth and opportunities. Tax deductions for home mortgages, retirement accounts, and college savings all disproportionately benefit higher in come families. At the same time, evidence from multiple sources demonstrates the powerful role of persistent discrimination in housing, credit, and labor markets.

Swizz Beatz Tells Mashonda to Sit Down... I Paid You

After reports of Swizz Beatz owing Mashonda over $300,000 for alimony payments and such Swizz responded saying the reports were inaccurate. According to Swizz he has paid Mashonda above and beyond what was advised by his legal counsel and provided more than enough for her to support herself and their son:
“I gave over what the judge was recommending to give. I gave her $700,000 up front, because I thought $200,000 wasn’t enough for what she wanted to do. I still get spit in my face for it,” he said. He suggested that the subsequent payments had been ready to go when he discovered “she’d been selling all my stuff out of my house.”
Clair said the only items his client sold were some remote-controlled vehicles the producer had left behind after movers took out his belongings.”

Both Mashonda and Swizz are due back to court next month. This is getting messier by the minute, we can't stand it!
