NYC has honed some of the most prominent MC's in hip hop! But just like in life times and people change! Giving way to a host of emerging new MCs ready to take the industry by storm and new artist Joe Billz is ready to do just that. While Billz has endured alot on the streets of Buffalo he says it was his move to Atlanta that really gave him a new perspective.
“Atlanta is like walking in chocolate,” Billz says. “In Buffalo you don’t see that many successful people. In Atlanta you do. That was inspiring to me. I was like, ‘if they can do it, I can do it.’
Along with his move to ATL Billz also credits much of his success to to his mom, who instilled a writing discipline in young Joe that serves him well today.
“My dad was never there so my mom had to play both roles.” Billz recalls. “She was very strict and very sweet. It was always education first. Through grade school up to high school, every day after school she would make me write a short story, or a dissertation. I would write it and then she would critique it.”
With a CD creating much buzz in the south Joe says it's his lyrics that speak volumes. As an up and coming artist Joe Billz hopes to have longevity in the industry by creating classic music that will remain relevant even 30 years later! And with the way he's moving now we are sure he'll have no problems doing just that!
