The Illinois senator is depicted in traditional Muslim garb in the Barry Blitt illustration set in the Oval Office. His wife, Michelle, is in fatigues, sporting an Angela Davis-style sky-high Afro, an AK-47 slung over her shoulder.

“The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said.

New Yorker editor David Remnick seemed shocked by the backlash. “Our cover … combines a number of fantastical images about the Obamas and shows them for the obvious distortions they are,” he said in a statement. “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said.

Obama brushed off the brouhaha. “I have no response to that,” he told reporters when asked about the cover, but his supporters are infuriated.

But it was very difficult for him to be in the situation he was in and be the example he wanted me to follow. So he intentionally stayed away. And he was kept away from me too. iddy and Cassie are at it again! According to reports the two were caught slipping out together at an NYC party and Cassie also gave us something to work with when asked to confirm her relationship with Diddy! Hmmm.. check this out via Livesteez:

Reports are surfacing that the clandestine relationship between Sean “Diddy” Combs and R&B singer Cassie is not kaput. Rumor has long put Diddy in a romantic relationship with his protege Cassie. Though they have consistently denied the affair, the pair was photographed last May snuggling in New York City’s Central Park in a manner that appeared to be much more than business.

Still, the evidence is hard to ignore, and now Cassie has allegedly added fuel to the fire with an offhand comment made at a party in New York this week. The 21-year-old singer was leaving the birthday celebration when she was asked to confirm reports she and Combs were no longer an item. She said, “I will confirm that rumor.” But there’s more. A party goer reportedly told Us Weekly magazine Cassie and Diddy were later seen “slipping out” together after the bash.

Cassie must have an album on the rise or something! I'm convinced that's the only time this chick brings the Diddy relationship in the mix!

Laurie Ann Clears up the Club Brawl......

Laurie Ann has released a statement about the recent club altercation she was connected to check it out:

“When I read the paper I was in shock,” Gibson explained. “I was with Missy having a great time and didn’t even know there was a fight. I found out later it was my makeup artist and I got to her the next day.” Gibson criticizes the venue, Marquee nightclub, for allegedly not providing a safe environment for patrons to enjoy themselves. “I really find it offensive that they are [allegedly] always doing something to my black sisters and brothers,” Gibson declared. “That club is a little extra in my opinion and it’s disappointing.”

Gibson defended her friend’s response to the hostile situation. “She (the waitress) pushed her and Deborah’s reaction was ‘I’m from Brooklyn, you’re not going to just be pressing up on me and disrespecting me’,” Gibson reasoned. “It was an unfortunate situation but I don’t roll with people who start trouble. She’s an amazing makeup artist and more importantly a strong black woman. It was just a case of someone feeling themselves at a nightclub and getting extra which happens all the time to a lot of us in entertainment.”

Now Laurie Ann you know you should be the last person to call something or someone extra! Lets be real!
