Oh No... Issac Hayes Passes at 65!
I received the unfortunate news that Issac Hayes tragically passed away yesterday at the age of 65. Read below for the details:
Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film “Shaft,” has died, sheriff’s officials in Memphis, Tennessee, said Sunday. Relatives found Hayes unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill. Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The “All of Us” actress was planning to divorce Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick, but now she’s moved back into his mansion. “It’s not that she would miss him, she would miss her position,” said our source. “She’s grown accustomed to the lifestyle - the gifts, the cars, the status.” The two have had problems since they wed in 2006. LisaRaye has been linked to former NBA star Gary Payton. In April, Misick was accused of raping one of LisaRaye’s friends, a claim he denied.

Oh No... Bernie Mac Passes Away!
Earlier today I received confirmation that comedian Bernie Mac passed away after battling with pneumonia! Read the details below via the SunTimes:
Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50.
Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for pneumonia. Foster said that she received calls early Saturday morning from a close friend of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac’s death.

Jailhouse Rock: The Mary J Blige Edition
Mary may be facing some legal issues surrounding her latest album "Growing Pains" which according to a producer was stolen! I know sounds crazy right! Peep this via NY Daily news:
Mary J. Blige is facing a $2 million federal suit claiming music on her most recent No. 1 album, “Growing Pains,” was stolen. Producer Theron (NEEF-U) Feemster wrote the music for the song “Work That,” but the tune is owned by Dream Family Entertainment Inc., according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Manhattan Federal Court. The court filing claims the New York-based firm never gave Blige, Feemster or Geffen Records, the distributor, rights to use the song.
“Mr. Feemster created the music while he was under contract with Dream Family. Dream Family then owned the music, yet the music was used without permission in a Mary J. Blige release recording,” said Dream lawyer Brian Caplan.
“It was released as an album, a single and in a commercial,” Caplan said. Rights to the lyrics of the song - which was featured with Blige in an iPod commercial - are not in question. Caplan said it was unclear if Blige knew the music belonged to someone other than Feemster, and said the producer “had no rights to the music he used.”
Wow this sounds messy I'll keep you posted although I don't think 2 million is enough lol! 2 million to Mary is like a 5 spot to us, she can come out of pocket a lot more, not for nothing but by the time this dude pays his legal fee's he wont be seeing too much of a reward anyway! Sounds like a waste of time to me ;-)
Usher Puts His Mom back on the payroll!
Usher has seemed to have a light bolt of intelligence and has put his mom back on as his manager! From what I hear his new now old manager Benny Medina got kicked off the management rooster! Read this via US weekly.com
“Usher has dissolved his management arrangement with Benny Medina and has re-engaged Jonnetta Patton as his manager,” his rep said in a statement Wednesday.
After only selling 2 million in 10 weeks I guess Usher is reaping what he sewed I just hope Jonnetta can fix this mess up! Thank God for the clean up woman!

Looks like Lauryn Hill may be hitting the studio again to give us the much anticipated album that we've been waiting for sin The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill! Showbiz spy says:
Lauryn Hill is building up material for a major comeback after giving birth to her five kids - she has song ideas and lyrics scribbled all over her bathroom. The reclusive star’s longtime partner Rohan Marley reveals Hill is as prolific as anyone in the music business, and cannot stop writing lyrics and tunes while she’s on hiatus. He says, “She writes music in the bathroom, on toilet paper, on the wall. She writes it in the mirror if the mirror smokes up. “She writes constantly. This woman does not sleep.”
Although her process sounds a little sketchy... whatever keeps her creative and producing good music is her business!
